Quick Review

We've been busy around here and I thought I would just post some random pics from my phone as a quick review! :)
I made a fast trip to Borger with the little ones so I could shoot a wedding with Lissa!
We decided to shave Dax's head.
Zach and I went to Colorado Springs for a youth pastor retreat.
Gus wore a bow tie to church and sported his shades later in the week.
Dax thought bubbles on his head was hilarious and he loves his new hat from his cousin, Ryan.
Gigi and Pa came to visit for an afternoon and all the boys wore hats.
I was trying to get a pic of both boys today and the last one is the best that I could get!

My Yummy Experiment: Mini Chocolate Cherry Dump Cakes

We were invited to a couple's house for dinner on Saturday and I had know about it for several days. I had volunteered to bring dessert but I didn't have anything in particular in mind. Well, Saturday rolled around and I still didn't have a plan. I also didn't really want to go buy anything. So I decided to take what I had at home and make it work!
I recently acquired lots of pantry items from my mother-in-law who is in the process of moving and I happen to have several things on hand that I don't normally just keep to have around. Two unique items were a box of cake mix and a can of cherry pie filling. I searched online for a recipe using both and found a dump cake recipe that I didn't quite have enough stuff for, but I liked the idea. I decided to make my mini version dump cakes!
Here are some pics I took along the way. My first step was to strap the 8 month old baby to my body to keep him happy. :) Next I scooped my cherry pie filling out and into the bottom of each muffin tin. (Side note: I got my muffin tins from my grandma so they look dirty but they're just old and stained. But because of it I use liners every time.😀) I only used half of the cake mix and evenly distributed it in each cup. I then cut a stick of butter into 12 slices and added that to the top. A little bit of sugar to finish it off and I put them in the oven at 350 for 25 minutes. I let them cool and kept them in the fridge until it was almost time to go to dinner. I made some whipped cream and added a generous dollop to each. (Minus the two that I had sampled right out of the oven... Just to make sure I could serve it of course. ;) ) They turned out yummy! I was so excited!!

Easter!

This is a little late but we had a really great Easter Sunday! Church was awesome and for lunch a sweet couple from church invited us over for a family event at their house. They had homemade tortillas and brisket and all kinds of goodies! We were so blessed by it. After we ate, both kids were fussy and in need of a nap so we left and put the kids in bed.
After the boys slept a few hours (and maybe mommy too) ☺ we had been invited by two more couple friends to come over for a game night. We had pizza for dinner and after that the kids hunted Easter eggs in the front yard. There were cookies for dessert and all the kids watched Cinderella and played together while the 6 adults played Taboo. It was a super fun time and we were so thankful to get to spend time with new friends! Here are a few pics; I forgot to take any at lunch.
The last picture cracks me up because it was Dax and the little girl his age hugging goodbye. :)

Loving the Warm Weather!

Yesterday the weather was so nice we had to get out and enjoy it! Gus can't crawl to get away so he doesn't have much choice when I decide to try all of our sunglasses on him. :)
I'm pretty sure it was Dax's goal to get as dirty as possible because we had to go to youth later. Good thing that's what little boys are supposed to do!

Long Night

Since we've moved in, we haven't had a good night of rest. I think the boys are still adjusting to our new house and schedule. Here are the little stinkers that have kept me up since 3:30 this morning. They're just too cute to be mad at though!

27 weeks!

Wow, it's been a while! Oopsie! :)
I don't have a lot to update, but one thing that I have enjoyed is knowing that we're having a boy! Also knowing that we're naming him Dax! He's been super active and I love it! (Even though he likes moving the most when I'm ready to be sleeping!)
Other than that, nothing else too exciting. Something I'm really not excited about is the fact that I took my glucose test last week and they called to say that I basically failed and have to go back this Friday to do the 3 hour test to see if I really have gestational diabetes. So, that's kind of a bummer but it'll be good to get it figured out!
We painted Dax's room this weekend and I'm hopefully going to post some pictures soon!
That's all for now!

A Sneaky Little Baby @ 16weeks!

Ok I'm at 16 weeks and we're going back to the doctor on Thursday! We aren't going to find out what the sex is yet but we'll be scheduling for that appointment so we should get to know soon!
Something I was kind of excited about is that last night while I was in bed I could feel when I touched my stomach where the baby was! I haven't felt it move or anything like that but I could actually tell where it was and that it was something more than flab! (Of course there is some of that too though.) It was pretty amazing to me and I kept trying to make Zach feel it. He wasn't quite as into it as I was but the fact that he could tell where the bulge was was so exciting to me! So Baby was hanging out a little to the right and a little bit later when I tried to feel it again, it had moved over and I hadn't even noticed! That sneaky little baby!! I was so bummed because I've been trying so hard to concentrate on feeling something moving but I still haven't. I know I probably still have a couple of weeks but I'm so ready for it! I'll keep updating, but I can't promise how frequently it'll be! Oh and maybe I can post a couple of pictures soon!
